Suga Gendo - Unending Joy & Longevity Unennding like the Sea
福寿海無量 Fukujyukai Muryo
福 聚海無量 means that a blessing of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva is limitless like an ocean full of good fortune. This is one of the last verses of Kannon-gyo Sutra, or Kanzeon Bosatsu Fumonhon (a scripture of the Lotus Sutra) No. 25, which are 具一切功徳 慈眼視衆生 福聚海無量 是故應頂禮 meaning that "Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva is endowed with all merits and virtues and sees people with great mercy. He gathers limitless good fortune like an ocean and thus should be worshipped. The letter 聚 is changed to 寿, which makes it more auspicious phrase.
